Team Accountability from Afar

You may or may not know this, but your two favorite SWERVE instructors happen to live in the same building! Just like the rest of you, we’ve been missing our time on the bike, but what we miss most is the team-based element of the workout at SWERVE. We’ve been using accountability strategies to maintain the team element of our daily fitness routines, and we want to share our ideas with you!

Having an accountability buddy is a GREAT way to maintain normalcy through change in your daily routine. We’re focusing on 3 easy but very important daily tasks. Here’s our daily accountability check-in checklist:

  1. SLEEP
Are you using this time to get enough sleep while also maintaining a regular schedule? Set an alarm for a reasonable time that allows you to feel well-rested with enough time to be productive throughout the day. We’ve been squeezing in extra hours but getting up early enough to stay conditioned for those early morning SWERVE classes 😉 A simple “Good morning! How are you?” text will do the trick.
  2. WATER
This one’s simple— are you drinking enough? If not, start a super fun game of “water tag.” Reach out to your accountability partner with a glamorous selfie of you drinking water and they’ll have to do the same. This is useful if you’ve been wondering why our skin looks so good…
  3. MOVE THAT BODY
Whether it’s the #dropanddoit challenge, your favorite at-home workout (see earlier blog posts from this week from some of our other amazing instructors), jogging outside while practicing social distancing, or sharing workouts with a roommate or partner, get your accountability buddy on board!

If you don’t have an accountability buddy yet, then you have us! Tag us: @yayitseddy and @sarahkawalek and we will motivate you and share your success!
